Alright You Hosers, Butchie Doesn't Do Basketball. But I Know Baseball. So Let's get It Started. It Is A Blessing That Terry Fired THAT POOR EXCUSE FOR A COACH Before He Retired. So How's It Gonna Be For Jay? I Haven't Followed Mckenzie Rebel Baseball In Awhile Do To The Smuck That Was Running It. So Let's Here It. I Think Jay Will Do A Great Job. What Are Your Thoughts And Tell Me What I Need To Know About The Players We Got.

now Butch, i ain't much of a baseball guy, but i'm willin' to try for ya. in the coach's defense that you were talking about, he is a very good guy and teacher and a pleasure to be around. however i agree with you that it was probably best for him to be fired. in the 2 years and 2 sports he coached, they got worse. the baseball team did well, and if i remember correctly, getting to the sub-state round. IMO, we had a lot of talent and got as far as we could with all the off-field distractions.

Well...I'm a firm believer that when it comes to small school athletics...it's a balancing act. When you've got one sport that is doing tremendously well, you'll find that the other sports may not being doing quite as well, though not always the case. With football in McKenzie having so much support and success on and off the field, sports like baseball and basketball aren't going to do quite as well.
I'm no fan of soccer by any means, but one thing I've learned...soccer requires more endurance than any other sport. When you get to the college level, you could be out their running for like 90 minutes non-stop, minus the half. Aint no other sport I know of that is quite that intensive.
